By Depositor Type
Individuals (personas humanas) and companies (personas jurídicas) are the main private-sector depositors. Mutual funds (FCIs — Fondos Comunes de Inversión) park short-term liquidity in bank accounts. SMEs (pequeños y medianos emprendimientos) are broken out separately by the BCRA. All values are in Millions of Pesos (MEyML — includes peso-equivalent of foreign currency). By Account Type
Checking accounts (cuentas corrientes) are demand deposits used mainly by businesses. Savings accounts (cajas de ahorro) are the main retail deposit instrument.
