Deposit Interest Rates
Savings Accounts
The savings account rate (tasa de caja de ahorro) is the average annual nominal rate banks pay on peso savings accounts. Savings accounts are demand deposits — funds can be withdrawn at any time — so their rates are structurally lower than time deposits. Source: BCRA Informe Monetario Diario (daily).
Time Deposits by Tenor
Average annual nominal rates on peso time deposits (plazos fijos) by maturity band: short-term (7–59 days), the standard 30-day benchmark, and longer-term deposits (60 days or more). The 30-day reference rate is the BCRA series tracked since 2002 and reflects the most common term chosen by retail savers. For rates charged by banks on loans, see Lending Rates.
