Lending Interest Rates

Consumer Credit

Annual nominal interest rates charged by banks on the most common consumer loan products. Credit card rates apply to revolving balances. Personal loan rates cover unsecured consumer credit. Current account advance rates (adelantos en cuenta corriente) are overdraft and short-term business credit — typically the most expensive form of bank financing. Single-signature documents (documentos a sola firma) are short-term promissory notes used primarily by businesses. Source: BCRA Informe Monetario Diario (monthly).

Secured and Mortgage Loans

Fixed-rate mortgage loans are denominated in pesos at a nominal annual rate. UVA mortgages carry a lower nominal rate but are indexed to the CER (a consumer price index), so the real balance adjusts with inflation. Auto and equipment loans (préstamos prendarios) are secured by a lien on the purchased asset. Source: BCRA Informe Monetario Diario (monthly).
