Notes on the official inflation data for the period 2007-2016

In 2007, Guillermo Moreno, minister of domestic commerce, politically intervened the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INDEC), replacing career statisticians (such as Graciela Bevacqua) with political appointees. The official inflation figures published from 2007 to 2016 are widely regarded as unreliable.
